Most of the analytical work we undertake consists of the general analysis of animal feeding stuffs of both vegetable and animal origin, and food and food ingredients for human consumption.

General analysis

Animal feeding stuffs

Food Analysis

Quality control and the establishment of nutritional data including dietary fibre, saturated and unsaturated fats, mineral contents and energy values for labelling purposes. Cereals & Grains

Fertilizer analysis

Quantitative determination of constituents as required by EEC and UK fertilizer regulations. For further details see the Fertilizer analysis page.

Oil seeds, oils, fats and waxes

Chemical and physical examination to establish nature, quality and compliance with standard specifications. Many samples are tested using FOSFA contractual methods. Essential oils are analysed according to the requirements of British Standards (BS) and Food Chemical Codex (FCC) specifications. Crude drugs, pharmaceuticals, gums and food additives

Specialised analysis

Microbiology

Investigation for the presence of pathogenic organisms, yeast, moulds, the determination of total viable counts and examination for microbiological organisms generally. For further details see the Microbiology page.
