We carry out physical and chemical examinations on cereals and grains according to EC Regulations, USDA specifications, ISO Standards and use the methodology of the European Brewing Convention for malting barley.

We are official analysts to the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), and are a UKAS accredited laboratory for many tests.

Chemical Analysis

The major chemical tests include the following :-

• Moisture
• Ash
• Protein
• Wet Gluten
• Acidity
• Mycotoxins (Aflatoxin, Ochratoxin)
• Test Weight
• Falling Number
• Zeleny index

Physical Analysis

The major physical tests include the following :-

• Determination of Impurities / Foreign Matter / Admixture
• Detection and identification of poisonous weeds / seeds and other undesirable substances
• Detection and identification of common storage insects
• Detection and classification of damaged grains
• Determination of Germinative Energy and Germinative Capacity (Malting Barley)
• Sieving Test (Calibration) on Malting Barley
• Physical analysis of rice according to ISO or USDA specifications, including determination of broken and damaged grains.
