United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)

Salamon & Seaber has been accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) since 1993, testing laboratory number 1378.

We comply with the requirements of the International Standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 "General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories."

A full range of test methods, relating to our analytical activities, is listed in our Scope of Accreditation .

We always aim to extend the range of tests achieving accredited status.

British Measurement and Testing Association

Salamon & Seaber are members of the British Measurement and Testing Association the national body which represents the interests of the measurement and testing industry in the UK and in Europe, through its representation on EUROLAB - the European Federation of National Associations of Measurement, Testing and Analytical Laboratories.

Official Analysts to the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA)

GAFTA is an association of international grain and feed trading companies. It has a range of contracts setting out the terms and conditions under which commodities such as feeding stuffs and grains are bought and sold.

As approved analysts we carry out the analysis of many thousands of officially drawn GAFTA contractual samples each year. These samples represent shipments of various commodities traded around the world, which are used in the manufacture of compound animal feeding stuffs.

The methods of analysis required by GAFTA contractual terms are set out in GAFTA Form 130, Salamon & Seaber has UKAS accreditation for these methods.

The reliability and accuracy of the data on our Certificates of Analysis are of great importance to the trade and we ensure that results are of the highest quality.

Our international reputation for integrity, impartiality, and independence is greatly valued in this respect.

A statistical report of our analytical results is contained in the annual GAFTA Members Yearbook.

GAFTA Trade Assurance Scheme (GTAS)

Salamon & Seaber is a member of the GTAS (Laboratory No. 001) as an approved analyst, certified by NSF-CMI Certification Ltd. Membership of the Scheme is important for all companies operating in the international grain and feed trade and provides independent assurance to those in the chain of supply.

We are registered on the GAFTA Approved Analysts Scheme and operate in accordance with GAFTA rules, testing the quality and condition of goods. To maintain approval an analyst participates in GAFTA ring testing schemes.

Analyst Member of the Federation of Oils, Seeds, and Fats Association (FOSFA)

Salamon & Seaber are registered full member analysts to FOSFA International and comply with the requirements of the Member Analyst Scheme.

We conduct contractual analysis on FOSFA International Contracts, which are exclusively concerned with the world trade in oilseeds, oils, and fats.

We are accredited by FOSFA International to carry out all mandatory and many optional contractual analyses.

We provide accurate and up to date FOSFA contractual Certificates of Analysis on oils, fats, oilseeds, and groundnuts for clients around the world. These certificates carry a FOSFA analysis seal to show that the analysis has been carried out by a Member Analyst, using FOSFA approved methods.

Our performance as Member Analysts is continually monitored by FOSFA International through participation in an accreditation and performance test programme and technical visits.

The reliability and accuracy of the data on our Certificates of Analysis are of great importance to the trade and we ensure that results are of the highest quality.

Sugar Association of London (SAL)

Salamon & Seaber are Affiliate Members of the Sugar Association of London.

We are recognised as providing a service to the raw sugar trade.

The Sugar Association and the Refined Sugar Association monitor our performance in sugar analysis through our participation in testing programmes for raw cane sugar and refined white sugar.

Polarisation testing is carried out according to the ICUMSA method for which we are UKAS accredited. We are also accredited for a wide range of other methods that are related to the quality of sugar.

International Fertilizer Society (IFS)

Salamon & Seaber are members of the International Fertilizer Society who provide an international forum for discussion and dissemination of knowledge of scientific, technical, environmental, economic and safety aspects of the production , marketing, use and application of fertilizers.
